[UPDATE, 4:21 P.M.] Non-sequitor alert: Skingo tonight at The Coffee Ethic!
Sorry for the lack of blogging today. We'll blame the oozing warts on our fingers.
But we're braving the pain to tell you that, with almost all certainty, Moxie Cinema will open its new doors on Wednesday, November 26. They'll be showing Synecdoche, New York, and Man On Wire—Yes! At the SAME TIME!
We're as excited as anyone, except maybe owners Dan and Nicole Chilton, who shut down the old Moxie on October 31 and have been living without making money off of movies for, by the 26th, almost four weeks. Thaksgiving indeed.
The full press release/eblast letter fo fans follows. Check out moxiecinema.com for more.

Hello!
Long time no see, eh? Well, that's about to change soon...our grand opening will be November 26, 2012. Ha ha, ooh boy. Right now it certainly *feels* like it will be 2012 before we open, but we are doing everything in our power to have our first official films (MAN ON WIRE, SYNECDOCHE NY) start on Wednesday, November 26, 2008!
We are SO excited to get back in the swing of things! After having a couple weeks of not running the cash register and projector, though, we may be a bit rusty on opening day. So have patience with us, bring me (Nicole) lots of chocolate, and we'll get through this swimmingly!
Our opening coincides with Thanksgiving, and for the first time in three years, we WILL be open on T-Day! So after the turkey has settled in, stop by and catch a flick. MAN ON WIRE is family friendly (well, it's PG-13 friendly), if you want to go that route, and SYNECDOCHE NEW YORK might satisfy your "oh-man-my-family-is-so-crazy,-I-need-to-watch-a-movie-about-someone-even-crazier!"-mood. Check our website later this week for showtimes!
And, as always on "Black Friday," (Nov. 28) we like to offer something that makes holiday gift-giving easy. We have a stack of $50 Bulk Passes and $300 Super Bulk Passes leftover from our summer fundraising efforts. For ONE DAY ONLY, you still have a chance to lock in your Moxie ticket rates at only $5 (they'll be going up slightly once we re-open). There aren't a whole lot left, so come early to pick up a few! As an added incentive, we won't be selling the new bulk passes until 2009, so it's your last chance this year to get such a deal!
Have I mentioned yet how much we've missed all of you? Doing construction is not nearly as fun as showing movies and serving popcorn. But we have had the pleasure of showing some of you around our new digs, which has been exciting, and we can't wait to show off our theater to everyone next week!
Keep checking our website, and we'll send out another newsletter soon. Thanks as always!
