Tiffany Christopher Goes Solo
According to Tiffany Christopher Band guitarist Casey Ciesla, Christopher has disbanded her backing musicians in order to concentrate on playing gigs on her own. According to Ciesla, Christopher told the group after a show about three weeks ago that she was unhappy with the way the group sounded and wanted to play on her own. Christopher could not be reached for comment. The backing group, made up of Ciesla, backing vocalist and violin player Hilary Murray, bass player Jack Jennings and drummer Justin Gabossi, currently has no plans to play together, Ciesla says, but he thinks the group could reform to play again sometime in the future.Beautiful Losers Update
Local frat-rock faves The Beautiful Losers are in the midst of another lineup change after their bassist, Garth West, left the band last month. The departure comes just ahead of the band’s show at the Wakarusa music festival in Kansas on June 8. The plan, says lead singer Eric Smith, is to hire a fill-in player for Wakarusa and a June 16 concert at Remmington’s Downtown until a long-term player is found. Once that is taken care of, expect work to continue on the band’s second, still-untitled album, due out in the fall.Faatherton Headed to Recording Studio
Singer and songwriter Logan Williams says Faatherton is about to go begin recording a new full-length album due out late this year. As a result, he says the band will go on hiatus from playing live after its June 6 concert at the Outland Ballroom. The new CD, not titled yet, will be the first since Faatherton’s full-length debut, 2004’s The Fragrance Divine. Can’t wait to hear what the group’s new material will sound like? You can find rough demo tracks on the band’s MySpace page, myspace.com/faatherton.Subscribe to GO Magazine today!
