Cross Canadian Ragweed at Snorty Horse Saloon
Oklahoma-based alternative country heroes Cross Canadian Ragweed are coming to the Snorty Horse Saloon on North Kentwood Avenue January 24. The band, which has a devoted underground following but only dabbles in mainstream success, comes to town in support of its latest album, Back to Tulsa: Live and Loud at Cain's Ballroom, released in October. Ticket cost and door time wasn't confirmed as of press time, but we'll give you the details once they're known.
Hinder Coming to the Shrine
Less than a month before flying abroad for its first-ever European tour, rock band Hinder will come to the Shrine Mosque on February 27. Opening acts will be Finger Eleven, which will release its album Them vs. You vs. Me on March 20, and Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry. Tickets will be $19 in advance and will be available at the Shrine Mosque box office, Stick It In Your Ear, Kaleidoscope, Vintage Stock and metrotix.com. Day-of tickets will sell for $23. Door time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Social Back Onstage?
The band members have been lax on saying why, but local pop-rock group The Social went on hiatus after going into the studio to record an album last year. Now, months later, the band is back for a "rebirth" show January 25 as the opening act for nationally touring indie star Dosh at Randy Bacon Photography Studio and Gallery. What will the "reborn" The Social look and sound like? We'll keep you posted.

The North Decade Sets Dates
This just in: local art-rock duo The North Decade has two shows booked in the next month. The band will play at the Outland Ballroom January 19 with The Nova Heat and Gummerman. Less than two weeks later, the band is tentatively scheduled to play in Bugsy Malones' Thursday concert slot on February 1. Door times and cover charges weren't confirmed at press time.
