Grilling... the Boogie Bears

There's more to Missouri State's Dancin' Duo than just jiggling.

Stopping to pose for this picture is the first time these two stopped dancing all season
If you’ve attended an MSU basketball game this season, you’re probably familiar with the dancing duo in the student session (typically in the top row). Meet Josh Fieleke and Dan Lepper. They keep us movin’ and groovin’ and laughing from the cheap seats the whole time—even when the Bears are losing. We recently caught up with Josh (he’s the one pictured on the left) and dug a little deeper. I mean, yeah, he dances, but can he find a yellowtail tuna in a family of tilapia and grouper? I mean really…

So, you guys are fans of the MSU Bears, eh? We know you dance, but let’s bring in a new element, let’s make you pretty. How about a wig, maybe some make-up, let’s turn it up a notch. Would you consider this?

“I would have to think that if we did it wouldn’t be a problem. We dance to cheer on the team and to provide a fun atmosphere, so whatever we’re wearing or no matter who’s around us, we’d just have to keep on dancing. Plus, I’ve had many a lady friend ask for lessons on dance moves, so something must be going okay.”

Do you carry this passion for anything else in your life? Perhaps you are Grand Master Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and are working toward winning the World Series of Video Games?

“The thing I am most passionate about is my relationship with Christ. I try not to yell at people like I do at games though; I don’t think it would be too well thought of or effective in showing God’s love. Besides that, I love all sports and am a master fiddler. Okay, so maybe not a master fiddler, but one can dream right?”

Best boy band of all time?
“The best boy band of all time would have to be the boy band before there were ‘boy bands’…Boyz II Men.”

Favorite Andy’s concrete flavor?

“Andy’s = Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies.”

Raciest candy bar?

“Um, the raciest candy bar would have to be a Nut Roll.”

Do either you or Dan have a recurring nightmare? For example, I am always being chased by a feverishly irritated tornado that wants nothing more than to see me dead.

“I used to have a reoccurring nightmare where I was at a circus and I got chased by a clown, tiger, and bear (which were running like humans) all throughout the circus and then finally ended up in one tent and they were all three cornering me with their ‘paws’ up in the air, about to get me but then I would always wake up. I used to have that dream three or four nights in a row.”

If you could make out with any character from Alice and Wonderland, who would it be and why?

“If I had to pick a character from Alice in Wonderland (which I’ve never seen by the way), I would have to pick her older sister. I figure no one ever pays attention to her and who knows, she could be awesome!”
